From the No Good Deed Goes Unpunished Dept....
No good deed goes unpunished.

The American "contractor" who was kidnapped in Iraq a couple of days ago is a machine builder named Jeffrey Ake, who owns a bottled water filler manufacturing company in South Bend, Indiana. The company is Equipment Express. Their website is http://www.equipmentexpress24.com.

He was in Iraq installing simplified, automatic water and edible oil bottling machines to dispense clean water and food grade edible oil to citizens in Baghdad.

He was so proud of what he was doing that he gave interviews to local newspapers indicating that he was glad that his first system would arrive just before Christmas in Baghdad.

He wasn't there to "make war" on the Iraqi people. He wasn't there to support the war effort. He wasn't even there as a US government contractor. He was contracting to a European Government who was providing new infrastructure to Iraq's poor.

No good deed goes unpunished.

I sure hope he comes home safe.
