I am so sorry to tell you that Wilson "Bob" Tucker passed away this evening. He was a true gentleman, and a fine writer. He is the first writer whose name I ever memorized because I knew that my librarians would not help me find his books again if I did not know his name.

He is the man who started bringing his friends into his work as characters, the Tucker behind "Tuckerize". I will miss him.

Tina

One of the giants of SF, his novel The Lincoln Hunters was one of the first SF stories I ever read, snuck it out of the adult SF section when the librarian wasn't looking. Great story, that still would stand up to anything published today.

I have unshipped my special bottle of the 20 year old Macallan, poured a glass, and drunk it in his memory.

Smoooooooooooth!
